Sandwich #2…and after this only 38 more to go… From the moment we saw that Chef Enworth would be competing in the Bermuda's Best Fish Sandwich Competition, it was a done deal…this sandwich from Muse Restaurant and Sky Bar was on our list. You may recall that Chef Enworth of Muse was the winner and current holder of the 2015 Restaurant Weeks Peoples’ Choice Award. He holds this title for a good reason. His delicious and creative offerings consistently take you to a place filled with empty plates and food happiness. This sandwich did the same. Served with avocado on the side to temper the little kick from the escovitch and a basket of seasoned fries (just because). Admittedly we shared this sandwich between two of us (because eating like this is hard WORK...#truestory) and agreed that the sandwich from Muse could use a little more crunch to the fish. But the crispness of the toasted bun sufficiently offered that texture you look for in a fish sandwich. For the record, the answer is YES if you’re wondering if you need to experience this sandwich. Our competition sampling would not have been complete without it!! Which is a reminder; don't get completely lost eating and enjoying the delectables the participants have created. This is a competition and you need to visit www.bermudafoodie.com to place your vote by this Friday August 14. More Bermuda's Best Fish Sandwich Coverage RED Steakhouse and Bar Muse SkyBar and Restaurant Breezes Woodys Seaside Grill Rosas Not your typical Bermuda fish sandwich, even though it did come with some of the usual toppings; lettuce, tomato, tartar sauce, a healthy helping of mahi mahi all served on a wheat bun. It isn’t 'regular' because of the one surprising condiment on this sandwich that takes it to another level. It’s the inclusion of the escovitch. Pickled and spiced carrots, onions and peppers nestled on the fish providing a tangy, tart, spicy, 'vinegary' pop that sets this sandwich on the road to phenomenal.
